ESBB, which stands for European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking, is an association for advancing biosharing through mobilising, inspiring, and educating the biobank community across EMEA.
The Council of ESBB is the authorizing body of ESBB, that establishes policies and procedures, in accordance with the operating procedures of the Association.
PhD, Outi Törnwall, joined the ESBB family in 2020 as a member of Academic & Industry Cooperation Working Group and Co-Chair of ESBB’s Vendor Representation Committee. She has long-term experience in driving global data partnerships with biobanks, health systems and pharma, to benefit clinical and genomic research. As a councilor and active committee member, she will continue to influence and advance biosharing as well as research opportunities for biobanks.
Dr. Törnwall commented: collaboration is the key to future success; this much is recognized by both biobanks and industry players. I am happy to be able to share my expertise and provide strategies for attracting industry collaboration opportunities for biobanks, while maintaining ownership and control as data custodians. Collectively at ESBB, we aim to increase and spread knowledge in the biobanking sphere, and transform biobanking for the future.
