BC Platforms has signed an agreement to a deliver genomic research software to the Finnish Red Cross Blood Service.
The Blood Service is responsible for supplying blood products all over Finland in a centralized manner. The Finnish Red Cross Blood Service has also always been active in scientific research. The services and products they deliver to the Finnish health care system have the foundation in strong in-house R&D expertise.
The Blood Service employs number of senior level researchers who publish a significant number of scientific publications every year. Nearly 60 PhD theses have been done primarily in its laboratories. The Finnish Red Cross Blood Service is also part of the new biobank initiative in Finland.
BC Platforms will implement a genome data management and research platform for the Blood Service to support their work within core research and development process. “The solution will greatly improve the overall security, compliance and analysis capabilities”, explains Blood Service’s Research Director Jukka Partanen.
